Myofascial release is a technique that uses gentle sustained pressure to release and unwind the fascia (connective tissue) that surrounds each muscle and interconnects all other parts of the body. These layers of tissue tend to get "glued" together ... frequently due to stress or injury. This is a great technique for anyone who cannot receive deep pressure work. Great results have been seen in reducing the intensity of discomfort for individuals experiencing fibromyalgia.
*Keep in mind this technique is a slower gentle process that requires a longer amount of time to address each area. This may require a longer session if your goal is to receive a full body massage as opposed to just a more area-specific session.
